PREGNANCY Massage

RISE is now offering pregnancy massage performed by our specially trained therapist Lucy Maraschino. Lucy trained in pregnancy massage as she found it to be extremely beneficial during her own pregnancy.

It is a gentle, yet effective, therapy that can help alleviate some of the most common discomforts created by pregnancy, including muscle cramps and myofascial pain especially in the lower back, neck, hips and legs.

Specialist manipulation during pregnancy also offers many other amazing potential benefits such as better sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, better circulation, reduction of cramping and so much more! Receiving this treatment helps to promote feelings of comfort, relaxation and well-being, which is always so important but even more-so during pregnancy.

Pregnancy massage is very similar to a regular massage, with one of the main differences being the way you are asked to position yourself. During your pregnancy it is of course unsuitable to lie on your belly, and so you may be on on your back for a short time, then on each of your sides with pillows between your legs and arms, often with other supports for the belly or your back based on your individual needs. This difference focuses on the comfort and safety of you and your baby.

The techniques used during a pregnancy massage are adapted to suit the changes your body goes through when you are carrying your baby to ensure your safety. Using a gentler pressure to encourage relaxation and promote well-being, or more applied firmness to relieve pain, the treatment is given in a way for best results that is both beneficial and safe.

A perfect way to take some time for self care and prepare the body for its wonderful changes.
